anyone try any of the Ashaway anatomically correct shoes that support the whole foot and not just the front and heel?

I am interested in your comments if you have tried them; especially the level of shock absorption compared to say prince NFS or asics. thanks

I found their shoes to be terrible, fell apart in less than a year, never use them again.
Used Hi Tec since and they are brilliant.

Those were the first ones, we had problems with the first generation. People really loved them, but they were not durable at all. We got the 2nd generation and it's a whole other story. With the first generation I had returns every week because the shoe was breaking appart. Now since we have the 2nd generation (since 4-5 months ago) I can't remember if I had 2 returns...Same comfort same good support but alot more durable and no returns. So people should really give them a try a 2nd time they will not be disapointed this time! Wink

Not having seen these, can you tell me how to tell the difference between old and new?

On the first generation of the Ashaway AMPS 301 (the electric blue one) there was a stitching on the side of the shoe near the flex point that was biting into the outerlayer and riping the shoe on the side. Now this stiching is pushed further back so it is not in the front flex point anymore, therefore no ripping on the side anymore.

If you look at the last page of our 2008-09 catalogue, you will see that there is a stitching on the side of the 301, starting in between the first 2 eyelids. Before, on the first generation, the stiching was more forward underneath the first eyelid, it was right in the flex point, and it was cutting there.

Great! They were comfortable to try on and did seem to have potential but I'd heard a few tales of them breakin'. Good to hear the problem was fixed.

sorry didnt understand that part. I see three shoes, the 512, 301, and 101. the electric blue show in the 2008-9 catalogue is the "new 301"? or is it the "old 301"? The electric blue has stitching between the first and second eyelet. Is this good or is it bad? What does the "old 301" look like?

The 301 in the new catalogue (2008-09) shows the latest generation of the model. The one that we don't have problems with. The old 301 has a stitching right underneath (or really close) to the fist eyelet. The stitchin of the latest generation is right between the 1st and 2nd eyelet, exactly like it is shown in the 2008-09 catalogue.

Are you playing at the Ottawa Athletic Club? You had problems with the balls lately? As a matter of fact we just got anew patch of balls today. We had only good comments about our Tru-bounce squash ball until recently in the last 2 months, there was several premature breakage. It was a problem in the process at the factory that causes that. Now they have been fixed.

Yeah...

Who hasn't had problems with the BK balls lately? If I didn't get them for free I would never use them. Dunlops are the best. I need to switch to a Dunlop sponsorship...
