Of course it's prejudiced, although I'm not sure it was glib! I'm English and as such support England and hope that they win. That doesn't necessarily mean that I don't think the 'Boks deserve to win, just that I hope they don't. |
That's fair enough. It sounded like it was someone from the southern hemisphere, begrudging that anyone else from that hemisphere should win it. Of course you're entitle to be predjudiced if your team is in the final. |

| Oh Heck Fionn, I didn't realise you were actually Fionn mac Cumhaill - I only know you as Finn McCool. A thousand apologies brave warrior, I would expect such sportsmanship from an Irish hero. But what on earth are you doing mixing with mere mortals in Edinburgh. Give a cheer for England mate. |

We should have had a try which could have changed the game - assuming Wilko converted it we would have been leading... I don't know how anyone can call an Aussie ref for an England game neutral, but overall SA have been the best side this tournament and deserved the win.
No regrets for me - our team have played out their skin and made a lot of people proud to be English! _________________ Adam Hildred

Cos we hate the English and generally dominate at every sport over them to which their reply is. More tea chaps? Their are more important things in life. Australians breathe sport. _________________ If the doors of perception were cleansed, everything would appear to man as it is, infinite |

Call me overly optimistic if you want but I doubt very much that a Ref. would put his reputation on the line because of animosity towards England.
Especially under the spotlight of the World Cup final, it would be far too obvious.
Unfortunately for me I was not able to watch the match, too many time zones away..... Does any one who did see the match believe that the ref was not on the level? _________________ IN SQUASH WE TRUST. |

The "try" was shown over and over again from every angle possible before the video ref gave his decision. IMO it was impossible to say that players foot touched the line so I don't know how you can rule out the try given that if there is doubt, the advantage goes to the attacking side.
Oh, and the match was boring so you didn't miss out on much. |

Old thread I know........
The final was a little boring.....although the english fans were quite amusing at my local pub.....moan moan moan........
If England had won, we'd never hear the end of it.........they lost, and we never heard the end of it.
At least it's not like football where you go and kill rival supporters after the match
Although I did get a lot off verbal abuse when staggering home.
