Hi.
I have watched all the quarter finals and the Semi between Shabana and Palmer. The matches to watch are Matthew – Gaultier and Shabana – Palmer. _________________ Oslo Squash |

Oh yes Matthew v Gaultier was brilliant - can we have more tournaments in HK - the time zone thing was great to watch the matches nice and early - feels strange to wake up though and switch the PC on and see a major final taking place live.
There is a recommended replays section somewhere (but I found it by accident a few months ago) - it had the canary wharf and TOC matches at the top of the list and they were the best squash matches I have even seen. Might be worth trying to find that section again to get the best matches.
let me know if you cannot find it and I'll have a look around |

How was the sound and camera angles Marko, the last couple I have downloaded were not great especially the sound, fades out, booms back, fades out......etc
They really need to put up a 10sec grab of the matches so we can see the quality before we purchase I believe. _________________ ........ Squash is a drug - and remember there is always someone better than you........ |

I agree with the 10 second clip and have suggested this to them on several occassions but nothing as yet.
I watched Gaultier v Matthew live and the picture quality was good so I can only imagine the DivX replay being excellent. I have also downloaded the Palmer v Darwish 1/4 final and it is a realmedia replay (450kbps) which is as good a quality as I have seen on realmedia. I don't really pay much attention to the sound, as long as I can here the ball I am happy.
All the quarters were on a different court from the semi's and final and I haven't watched any of them (semi's and final) yet (I purchased the later stages package which was pretty good value I think although I don't know when I'll get round to watching all the matches). |

I've not noticed any probs on sound at all although I had to fade out Edwards for the Saudi Final and just watch the match with court sounds - strange to watch without commentary.
The DivX are fantastic as usual and I noticed that they are offering to send DVDs out with DivX matches on - as my downloads sometimes fails, this might be useful.
I've taken up the later stages package for the past 2 events and its been brilliant - I hope they do it for bermuda also.
A 10 second clip is a good idea I agree. |

Watched the Gaultier v matthew game and whilst it was very watchable again the quality was quite inconsistant, and inconsistant in things that would not be caused by a great cost I reckon, ie sound was not great, poor commentating/no real commentating, sloppy editing > camera shake and flickering between the rare times a second/front camera was use, limited replays.
Added to that there is a real sense of disclocation for the viewer one seems to watching the match from a distance in an empty factory somewhere.
Having said that price obviously dictates some of these factors and I am pleased to get access to these great matches. _________________ ........ Squash is a drug - and remember there is always someone better than you........ |
