According to the Black Knight Website:
DAVID PALMER JOINS BLACK KNIGHT TEAM
Montreal, January 2008
David Palmer, one of the dominant squash players of this decade, 2006, 2002 world champion and world #1 (currently #4), and his coach Shaun Moxham, have joined forces with Black Knight Canada as of January 2008.
David and Shaun have long wanted to play a proactive role in the development of squash equipment. Their goals were a perfect with fit with Black Knight's reputation in the squash community and its 30 year history of squash innovations.
They will collaborate with Fred Reid of Black Knight Canada to coordinate new product development, and with Bruce Alexander, BK manager of international sales and marketing, to assist in the growth of BK distributors around the globe. |

That's awesome for BK and very strange for Head - Palmer relationship. They were together for entire PSA career of DP.
Funny enough, the other topic in the forum is all about BK rackets _________________ >>drops hot<<

That seems very strange, considering he is being used to front the new Microgel campaign.
Is something happening at Head? First Ramy doesn't want to use their equipment - until it is basically built like his old Prince, then Palmer leaves after his entire career with the brand and joins BK.
All seems a bit odd to me.
Any one else have other opinions? _________________ SquashAndy |

With regards to David Palmer, with him and his coach moving State side must have a large part to play in this. I would imagine the sponsorship deal will be a lot about promoting the Black Knight brand name their. Also David is getting to the later stages of his career, I would imagine that he will want to establish himself with an US/Canadian brand similar to Chris Walker who also moved to Black knight when he set himself up in the States.
As for Ramy's rackets, all I have to say is that why don't HEAD release the personalized Ramy racket to the public. Speaking for myself that is the one that I would buy without a shadow of a doubt. I don't know if any one else would agree but I hate both the tree trunk of a grip on the current ranges and the stringing pattern does nothing to improve my game. For these reason's I will be sticking with my O3 tour.
Come on HEAD do they think that the general public are stupid. If they know that Ramy doesn't want to use it, why would we? |

I totally agree, the square handle is like holding a tree trunk. _________________ IN SQUASH WE TRUST. |

| Have the Microgel rackets gone back to the really square handle like the flexpoint then? I have a metallix 130 and love the grip shape. |

| The shaft on the BK racket he is using looks like a snake swallowing a small rodent. |

| He is holding the BK Magnum Pro, it has a vibration thingy in the shaft that is why it bulges. |

Yeah there is a bulge between the head of the racquet and the grip, I don't know the official reason for it but it shows up on the C2C models as well. _________________ IN SQUASH WE TRUST. |

I hear you guys, the square handle thing sucks, so does the fact that we all found out about the "modified" racquet. I wish I never found out, I was all excited about the new racquet. Not like tennis, where a paint job is less noticeable, and guys still buy the federer racquet even though the federer racquet is also modified, and has a smaller 85 sq head than the 90sq inch retail version.
As for Head, probably now that they have Ramy, Palmer is being phased out, picked up by Black Knight, known notoriously for not supporting pro players, but only juniors and coaches. I'm in Canada and Blackknight is huge in university and schools. Anyone who comes onto the court with a blackknight, and you know they can play, especially old guys with big guts and no hair- you see them with a 20 yr old ragged BK shirt with holes in it, you know he's good. Great racquets too I might add. Best durability, paint job, innovation. |

| It isn't too surprising to see David Palmer sign with Black Knight since he has been sponsored by Ashaway for so long, Black Knight and Ashaway seem to have a pretty tight relationship as all BlackKnight Rackets ship with Ashaway Strings. |

I might be wrong but I thought Black Knight owns Ashaway. _________________ IN SQUASH WE TRUST. |
