| Entries close on April 16 - Ramy is currently the only player in the top 15 not on the list. Doesn't look like he's playing. |

| That's what I figured based on last year's controversy discussed at length on this site. |

That's very strange, I wonder what he has against the BO? I could understand his absence if alot of other guys were missing but he's the only one out. Surely he doesn't want to end his career without that title under his belt? _________________ "Drive for show, drop for dough." |

Yeah, this is a thinly veiled smoke-screen.
It is currently one of the top 10 biggest points/money earners on the PSA circuit this year, and you need at least 10 tournaments up for your ranking.
I also think it is true that all top 16 players must play all bar 2 of the superseries events, so he has to play some tournaments of this size.
Why he would choose one not so far away from home, and with the most prestige, I have no clue.
He played a 5 * recently in North America, (smaller cash and more travel too), so there has to be another reason. |

| Strange given the Super Series Final is a couple of weeks later and he's playing in that. You'd think, if money was the issue, he could play the British Open and then do a few promotional matches inbetween. That is, if the money is so important and ranking points aren't. |

Surely at his age and stage of his career, money can't be a real reason for not playing in the British Open? I don't buy it i'm afraid. One of the most if not the most prestigious tournament and still has very good prize money.
I think he is being badly advised by someone out there. |

The super series is sponsored by ATCO who also sponsor Ramy, so I guess he can't miss that one. |

I'm a lot more unimpressed with Ramy's decision this year vs. last year. Given that the British is one of the larger tournaments in 2008, he should be playing it this year...particularly given that he's in the UK a couple of weeks prior. It seems to me that if he was hoping to send a signal to the British organizers with his absence last year, they got with the program and upped the purse.
I see no reason to not play this event if it's one of the top 10 tournaments. Beginning to think something else is afoot as well. |

| The entries closed today - Ramy has entered. Must have been a last minute decision. The world's top 15 are in. Can't get much better than that! |
