I suspect 1 of 42 is an idiot because I like Z and it wasn't sarcasm. He reminds me of goku from dragon ball Z and everyone picks on him cos he likes Jansher. Well I like goku! _________________ If the doors of perception were cleansed, everything would appear to man as it is, infinite |

How long ago was that?
The court looks smaller, the service line looks higher and I've never seen those arched service boxes.
When did service boxes change to a square? I started squash around 1986 so I'm guessing this was early eighties? _________________ England Squash Level 3 Coach.

Yes that would be in the period from 83-86' when Jahangir decided to conquer the hardball circuit as well. Wikipedia states he played 13 hardball tournaments during that time and won 12 of them, beating Talbott 10 of 11 times. I think I read somewhere that Jahangir once won the British Open and then flew immediately overnight to the States to play the first round of a hardball event in the morning. That's how determined he was to conquer the hardball circuit as well.
Talbott, by the way, is now the women's coach at Stanford University, not very far from my club. He still lays claim to being the greatest American player of all time. |

It is interesting to have a hit on it, till u get back to a softball singles court and realize wat a difference 2 and a half feet can make (the hardball singles court is 2 and a half feet narrower than a softball singless court, plus the hardball singles court's tin height is 17 inches, whereas the norm around the world for all softball singles squash courts is 19 inches, although the pros use the 17 inch tin, confused? Yeah I just slipped myself a sedative as well), but in all in all quite interesting.
P.S : they use a different (bouncier) ball for hardball singles |
