There has been some mixed opinions at my club about which foot to lead with on a forehand shot. Conventional teaching has been to lead with the left foot(for right handers), but many insist that this closes ones body to the middle of the court and that squaring yourself to the front wall is acceptable. I find it difficult to play tight to the wall when I do this but it seems to open up the cross nick. I see pros doing it but are they being coached to square up to the front on the forehand?
