Do you think your personality has anything to do with the way you play squash. I like having fun and am a retard and my squash is basically smack tight hard length when I feel like it and do stupid fake shots and go for ridiculous winners. That sort of coincides. I could imagine Steve and Viper playing text book english squash down the wall, mix up with boasts and drop when their behind you sort of squash. _________________ If the doors of perception were cleansed, everything would appear to man as it is, infinite |

You maybe on to something here Bendi - I get bored easily and have trouble sitting still - (although the Dr says the new tablets will help) but I can't be bothhered with attritional squash I like it fast and powerful, mixing it up and basically trying to have fun. I would rather lose 3-2 and have played my type of squash than bore the pants of my opponent and win 3-2.
Still manage to play at a good level so can't all be bad.

| giood topic there bendi. there is a lad at our club who is a excellent player and beats most of us most of the time. however, i saw him a few times playting away at national competitions. if he plays someone equal who puts pressure on him he literally shits himself and loses 3 0. even the tiniest amoiunt of pressure will crack him. what you would call local hero i suppose, take the local hero out of the locality and they are not such a hero anymore. |

Good thread!
I find it verydifficult to play consistent squash. In other words, straight down the wall until someone plays a loose shot.
I love mixing it up with a few fake shots (swing to play a backwall boast, miss it and play a straight drive ), cross court drops into the nick and a few trickle boasts. It doesn't always work but my oppeont has to work dam hard to get some of those shots back.
