I know this isn't a political blog, but on this Super Tuesday, I'd like to wish Barack Obama the best in his attempt to secure the Democratic nomination, a most difficult first step on the way to the White House. I think he'd make an awesome president that Americans could be proud about after this 8-year train-wreck.
Go Barack! |

| Why? How is he better than some other the candidates? I'd really really like to hear why you're so fond of Obama? |

He has far and away the most sane foreign policy, he isn't pandering on taxes during a time of record deficits, though to her credit Hillary isn't either. He is the one candidate that doesn't see the nation's politics as a grudge match between two halves of the country that must be won at all costs, but rather a debilitating condition that must be overcome to make the country great again.
There are many other things to say about Obama, but I'm too busy on political blogs tonight to blather on to many international squash fans about this topic. If you're interested, there's probably 10,000 blogs that are discussing Super Tuesday tonight. |

Unfortunately for the America and the rest of the world, the two people who could make a positive difference -Ron paul and Mike Gravel [and perhaps Kucinich]- don't have a snowball's chance in hell of making it to the top job. All the other candidates are just offering bread and circuses for the masses. _________________ Before I speak, I have something important to say- Groucho Marx |

For you and me, definitely! For any country sitting on oil and gas, he's a dangerous lunatic. _________________ Before I speak, I have something important to say- Groucho Marx |

| I think Bama is just saying what you want to hear. Your name is Canuck, so I guess you're from Canada. Haven't you learnt anything from the last decade of Canadian politics? What's that, can't remember, you're a crack baby? Ok, I'll sum it up for you...every one who wanted to be elected said he would do something better than the other guy, got elected then found out that realistically it can't be done. But good enough, he's elected already... too late. I expect more from a Canadian.... |

Wasted, I expect more from a Canadian than the crap you post here all the time...
It might feel great to run a campaign like Kucinich, but polling .5% for two elections in a row tells me that politics is about messaging as much as policy. He can't break through at all, so he does absolutely nothing for the positions he pushes. He can't even get enough support to make other candidates raise an eyebrow...unlike Ron Paul. I don't see how anyone can say that Kucinich has done anything for discourse in the US...and I like his policy prescriptions. I just think that Barack is the only viable candidate that can will move anything in a direction that Naderites/Kucinichians would approve.
I think his voting record shows that he is quite a bit more progressive than the audience he is targeting with his "unite the country" rhetoric. He's a stealth candidate for the left, but I suppose the purists find that to be disingenuous shilling rather than an intelligent approach to bringing people around to his positions, many of which have been dragged through the mud by Republicans, corporate media, and centrist Democrats since the dawn of the Cold War. |
