| Haven't used myspace before, but I had the impression that facebook had kind of overtaken it as the most widely used social networking site. Are you familiar with both, and thus able to offer a comparison of the two? |

My first-hand knowledge in this matter is close to zero, but I thought that I should warn you. It is very easy to register and become members of such sites, but well-nigh impossible to deregister. Even though you may think you have deregistered, and therefore deleted whatever information that you had to provide when joining, the fact is that your details are stored somewhere on their servers, and therefore liable to be hacked by a determined data mining company. One member compared it to the Hotel California : " You can check out any time, but you can never leave!"

Well if you don't want private details known to everyone just don't submit them... duh. Otherwise when you put in your details everyone would know and someone could read them from another computer since you've displayed it to the public and write it down on a notebook, and put that notebook in a box and then lock the box and hide it and never tell anyone where it is and it's impossible to get that information back. I suffer from a disease known as freight train writing. I'm sorry for that. Still your comment sounded ridiculous. The internet is a very public place and hard to leave. _________________ If the doors of perception were cleansed, everything would appear to man as it is, infinite |

Just read this article. Don't trivialise the dangers. If you still want to go ahead, fine. I wouldn't touch such sites with a bargepole.
