K-I-S-S-I-N-G... why the hell are all 3 playing in that small canadian tourny??? Were they paid. If so could someone find out how much it cost the organisers to get those 3 players?? _________________ If the doors of perception were cleansed, everything would appear to man as it is, infinite |

My 8 ball says they're getting paid. It's like prostitution but for squash. _________________ If the doors of perception were cleansed, everything would appear to man as it is, infinite |

Might not be necessary. Since the prize money is $30000, and the total field is only 8 players, all the top 3 players should make a decent amount even by reaching the semis _________________ Before I speak, I have something important to say- Groucho Marx |

| It's an invite event, not a PSA sanctioned one. They are professionals and have every right to earn money playing in tournaments like these. Detroit had one last September - $30,000 for an 8 man field with included White, Tuominen, Beng Hee, Boswell. I have no idea what the split was, but I'm sure all the players earned decent money for 1 weekend. |

Hang on there bendi, what's the difference between professional squash players picking and choosing where they play against any other professional in any line of work in the world choosing which contract they accept. If the work is the same most people will go for the money...... Remember they've got to make the most out of it while they!! |

clearly they divide the money 3 ways between 27 000. Give the 3 grand to the other 5 players. _________________ If the doors of perception were cleansed, everything would appear to man as it is, infinite |

Shabana and Ramy are still in Canada after the Pace event, and are touring a few cities to put on demonstrations between events. If they are going to come all the way over here then why not make the most of the trip?
I was lucky enough to see them play tonight in Edmonton and had a chance to meet them both. They put on an amazing show that was simply jaw dropping. They are very personable and friendly guys to boot. _________________ IN SQUASH WE TRUST. |

My opinion is that, the best squash players (Top 100) are not been paid as good as they should for all the hard work they are doing. So they deserve all the money they are making by playing the PSA or exhibition matches.
Pedro, if you have any pictures, send them to Steve with a match report. I think he will gladly publish it. _________________ Oslo Squash |

Sorry I didn't get any pics but the match went five games as demonstrations generally do. Amr won but it was the shot making and the interaction with the crowd that everyone will remember, Amr and Ramy are tremendous ambassadors for the game. _________________ IN SQUASH WE TRUST. |

I do wonder whether this exhibition in the week following the Canadian Classic had anything to do with Amr mailing in his final performance in that tournament. Thankfully, I got to see the match of the tournament the night before between Darwish and Ashour.
The match between Shabana and Ashour at the Canadian Classic was definitely not worth the money. Less than 40 minutes, and probably 15-18 tins from Shabana in the contest. |

Don't forget that Amr is coming back from injury and is not yet 100%. The pressureless atmosphere of exibition matches are most likely just what he needs to get back in buisness.
He did say however that he will be resting alot between now and the super series finals. _________________ IN SQUASH WE TRUST. |
