Here are a few things I can think off, feel free to add your own or comment on these:
1) No matter how many years you have played there will always be someone with awful technique who just picked up the game last year that can beat you!
2) Two beginners with no idea what the nick is will grab it at least several times in game. However, two pros will rarely hit the nick despite aiming for it at every opportunity.
3) The slower you swing your racquet, the greater the chance of a mis-hit . Conversely the faster you swing , the greater the chance you will hit the sweet spot.. This leads to the illogical conclusion that the more time you have to play a shot, the greater the chance you will mishit it , unless you swing fast! _________________ My Squash Profile

I have to disagree with everything you say there sorry. I've never had any one not playing at least 2 years beat me, and everyone i play has great technique or at least in the autonomous stage of learning.
I watch pro's hit the nic all the time, even at the top club level where I play we all manage to get the nic at least once or twice, and beginners get a fluke nic like once every 3 matches.
Umm generally I swing without thinking about it, faster for more power and slower for a drop shot. And I rarely mis hit but if i do it's not swing speed but cos i wasn't looking at the ball or it was a high speed volley coming at me or a hard to reach shot.
I even have to disagree with your quote from Hashim. I lend my racket occasionally to other ppl and I always want it back after our hit or there match. Thats like 150 dollars down the drain or whatever your paying. _________________ If the doors of perception were cleansed, everything would appear to man as it is, infinite |

I think that having extra time to play the shot only gives you the opportunity to hold on the ball and create confusion for your opponent. Your swing speed should be governed by your shot selection. _________________ IN SQUASH WE TRUST. |

i agree with this one alright, the no one at our club holds the racket like a hammer and volleys as if serving in tennis and he is still no 1! he can give some top players in the country a decent game. tbh, i think he makes up for his lack of technique with a great ability to read the game and he refuses to give up even when getting his arse kicked... |
