|

Does anyone have any details about what exactly is wrong with Ramy's foot ? Is it an ankle problem, or is it a recurrence of his plantar fasciitis, or something else. Seeing how he is struggling physically even in his first round, it's difficult to see him beating tireless players like Azlan and Lincou to even reach the semis.
Does not look too good for his defence of the SuperSeries title too. _________________ Before I speak, I have something important to say- Groucho Marx |

It had to happen[losing to Azlan]. He's going through the tough learning curve about how far he can push his body and mind. Hopefully, he will take the right lessons from this, and take a long break after the Atco SuperSeries-I can't see him missing that event, as he is their brand ambassador. He will have almost a month to recuperate in time for another event where he is the main crowd-puller, the Sky Petrosport Open 2008 15-20 June. _________________ Before I speak, I have something important to say- Groucho Marx |

Ramy needs to hit the weights if he wants to prevent further injury, strengthening the muscles around his hamstrings and back. _________________ "Drive for show, drop for dough." |

It's not really surprising that he's injured. His playing style is really risky... definitely prone to more injuries than other players. Palmer's movement is probably one of the best... Ramy's is too erratic and scrambly... _________________ Foster's... it's Australian for beer! |

| not at all, ramy is probably the best mover in the game. the fact that he takes a lot of high risk shots means he gets out of position slightly, therefore he has to scramble a bit to get a return shot back after his high risk shot...... |

Actually, I think both Adrian and Manus are right.Ramy is one of the best movers, but is also more prone to self-inflicted injury. This is probably because he has an excessively bouncy type of movement that may increase the rate of wear and tear in his muscles and connective tissue. Another, and more important factor, is his terrifically sporting way of playing the game, where he genuinely does everything humanly possible to clear the ball well in time. Its great to watch, but also ends up adding to the strain on his legs. _________________ Before I speak, I have something important to say- Groucho Marx |

Yes, that's right... Ramy is the best mover... but his movement is really risky... Palmer moves much better. He moves extremely well around the court in a different way then Ramy. Palmer's movement is more 'exact' or 'textbook'... not sure how to say it but its the best way to decrease the risk of injury. I bet that Ramy has unfortunately more injuries in his future. _________________ Foster's... it's Australian for beer! |

| i was at the b.o over the weekend, and i spoke with various people regarding the ramy situation. noboddy seems to know how serious his injury is, and how physcological it is. he definatley has issues in both areas in my opinion. the racket business cannot be helping him or his sponsors. i noticed on the pictures of his match with azlan that the head logo is bearley visible. nice guy or not he has contractual obligations and now he is just taking the p**s. very unproffessional considering he has won events using the head metallix 130 and the microgel 125. back to back events infact. i think he needs to go away for a few months and get everything right with his body, mind and racket before he plays again |

palmer is stong in his movement and technique but shabana and gaultier move with the same precision but faster. palmers accuracy of shot and pure power coupled with dogged determination and mental strength is what has kept him at or close to the top for years. |
