Anyone know what Jonathon Power was using the last few years? What tension? Difference between crosses and mains?

The way he carved around the ball for those beautiful volleydrops in the front right make me think he was particular about his string...

I am pretty sure he was using Technifibre, not sure it is was 225 or 305 though. You can see here in 2006 has definately using Hulk green string.

That's surprising--that's the first pic I've seen him using the green stuff. I have DVDs from 2003, 2004, his two instructional DVDs and seen hundreds of clips and that's the first green string I've seen on his racquet. Hmmm.

Tecnifibre string hasn't always been green -- it used to be a tan/neutral color. I think 2006 was the year they went green.

It was definitely green in '04 and I believe back to '02.

You can still buy Technifibre string in either the neutral color or green. Same exact string.

Technifibre makes green and clear (not counting the new red). They are the exact same string, but Technifibre will only give (free) you the green. Even if you are Shabana or Power, if you want clear, you have to buy it.

Dunlop (Shabana and Power) wants their players to use Dunlop string, or at least one that looks like their string. So Dunlop players use the clear version of Technifibre.

Due to supply issues, sometimes green is all they can get. At the 2006 Windy City Open, Shabana and Power would use both colours in the same match.

Man, you know nearly everything!

So, you're saying that for the last several years JP has been playing 17g 305 in clear. Right?

I don't know if JP uses 225 or 305, but I would guess 225. But Ramy uses 305 sometimes so I really don't know.

Jp played the Canadian Nationals using a red string(not the power nick 18G red from Ashway, more like Technifibre red).

Do most of the guys use Tecnifibre? ( apart from the obvious Ashaway guys)

What about Gaultier? Does he use the natural colour as well as Shabana etc?

Wilstrop seems to use a natural string but have seen green ones in his racket too. Maybe Prince as a rule make their players use natural tecnifibre too?

I believe some players also use E-Squash string, I thought that was what Willstrop used.

Seeing recent pics of Wilstrop with green strings, i would guess he is now using tecnifibre and usually the clear stuff.

6 of the top 10 use Tecnifibre strings but Dunlop and Prince don't allow green or red. The players have to buy them. The 305 and 225 don't exist in clear anymore...only the x-one bi-phase exists in clear.

So are you saying that Gaultier and Shabana use X one biphase in clear?
I assume then that the 4 non Tecnifibre users are Palmer, Matthew, Beng Hee and Darwish?

Thanks for the info on what strings are used, but does anyone know the tensions preferred by different players? Anyone know the stringers of the pros? Anyone heard or read an interview where a pro mentions their preferences?

Thanks.
