Has anyone else noticed how Gaultier almost never loses a game before the quarters? Shabana, Ramy and Willstrop will all occassionally drop a game in the early rounds, but Greg is always a quick 3-0 no matter who he's playing. Is this because of his style, or his intensity and desire to save energy before bigger matches?
Is it better for the top guys to go full out and make it 3-0 to get on and off quickly, or maybe play at 90% intensity and drop a game, but save yourself for future matches?

I usually save energy and not worry if i lose games and when i was doing that i was inconsistent and losing matches. then i got my fire back and wanted to win every single point and ive won all my matches in my current season bar one 3 - 0 and that other one was 3 1 and i had a bacon and egg roll before playing. So i def thinks its better to go full on in every game or point. in the context of a tournament i still think its better cos less court time equals lesser need for recovery no matter how much effort you put in your still playing 20 minutes less than your opponent who won his match 3 1 and saved energy

wow, groundbreaking stuff there, maybe you could coach greg not to eat bacon and egg rolls... Laughing greg seems to play well against top players in early rounds but if any lesser ranked player ie outside top 10 gives him a hard game, he tends to get upset easily........

Greg would eat croissants, french toast, escargots or a french baguette... he is a french guy. That is what french guys eat.
