I know this has been asked 100000000000000 times, but I'm looking for some new shoes.
I have been using a Mizuno pair (not even sure of the model name) for about 4 months and I hate them. Just awful in every sense. They are now starting to really bug my feet.
I play every day, hard training, so durability would be nice but not necessary.
I have used Asics and Hi-Tec in the past and really liked them.
Any suggestions? Thanks |

| New Balance 653s with the gum sole. Ive found them more comfortable and more durable than Prince, Adidas, or Hi Tec. |

To be honest I'm a big fan of Asics shoes and I won't use anything else. I have tried the new Hi-Tec shoes but they didn't suit me.
I think the best piece of advise I can give you is go with what you know works for you!! |

i hear you. shoes are difficult to find. some the style is good. but not enough support. or enough supports but the sole tears. or the sole is good, but feet slides forward. or doesnt slide forward, but ankle part too high and digs into the ankle skin.
I bought maybe 12 pairs in last 3 years. my review is as follows from most recent to older:
1) Asics gel rocket 4 - good looks, gel front and back. soft and comfortable but enough support from the gel. grip is excellent and not too thick (prevent ankle rol l). Would I buy 4 pairs? yes.
2) Asics gel gel blads- similar to above, but no gel in front. cant really tell. soft and supportable, grip is even better. pretty much same as above, but in black and yellow. Would I buy 4 pairs? yes.
3) Prince NFS 3- great looks, a shoe made for squash. great grip, durability, comfort. Especially with people who get black toes because the toes jam the front of the shoe. the front is wide and great for toe jammers to prevent black toes. price is right too. cant really go wrong. only complaint is shock absorption is a little low, and needs after market insole insert.
4) Asics gel sensei- expensive, but most comfy and best support. not durable. grip could be better. bought 2 pairs, no regrets.
5) adidas stabil - sole peels in 1 week. got exchange. tore again in next game. very stiff, heavy shoes. not for me.
6) Yonex shx- a badminton shoes, comfy like asics but too soft and toes will jam. lateral support insufficient. cant use it for squash.
7) head shoes - no supports but great grip and light. lots of room and good fit. cant recommend due to lack of support.
Mizuno- great support. too high off the ground. grip is no problem. toes are too narrow at front, so not good when stopping. jsut got 1 pair and wouldnt recommend again.
9) hi-tech viper? - like head shoes, light and good grip, but not enough support
ask me if you need any other specific, but like neil, i'm an asics guy, with a pair of prince NFS around just in case. |
