| I was only thinking along similar lines the other day. How good would it be to see a squash game come out for the Wii? If they can do tennis, surely they can do squash. |

Ah the Commodore 64, many hours of my youth spent on one of them! The waiting 4+ minutes for the games to load off a cassette was the best part lol.
Hopefully if they bring out something squash related on the Wii things will have progressed a little. |

Interesting concept: a squash computer game being a catalyst for generating new interest in our game and bringing new players into the mix.
Setting aside the astronomical development costs for creating such a game. I actually read an article about the increase in guitar sales and lessons that they directly attribute to Wii's game Guitar Hero giving credence to the theory, but personally think there is "lower hanging fruit" that we aren't exploring to promote and grow our game

A squash video game would need to be done well in order for it to work as a positive promotional tool for the real game. I think the Nintendo Wii is the most obvious candidate to achieve this. Imagine standing in your court (the living room/bedroom) it fits! Plus it adds a great interactive fun element when with friends/family. Develeopment costs may not be too bad:

I'm guessing the lower tech (non hidef) graphics help keep costs down and the control element is largely defined by the real world movements of the Wii wand.
A game could also have two different modes - a serious real style play mode and a more arcade fun style with objects to hit for bonuses or objectives etc....... I'd love it myself I've had an eye on the Wii for a while but am just looking for a game that I can connect with! _________________ play.anywhere |
