So, looks like I am wrong with my predictions. Summer of training worked well for
Nick Matthew. Maybe that's the new racket for James Willstrop as well
(Matthew bt. Willstrop 3-1 in 79 mins)

And seems like Egyptians are on fire as Karim Darwish demolished Lincou 3-0 in 40 mins.

So.... I guess it's all Egyptian season just ahead of us

It seems to be Ramy and then everyone else. He's playing at a different level than the rest of the field right now and he's only going to get better as he gets older. The only thing I see stopping him is the brutal back to back schedule in the upcoming months.

it's very true what you say. Ramy's the new PSA No. 1 sooner than we think. The other players can just watch his back and enjoy the ride.

By the way - what the hell is with his contract with HEAD? He uses Prince racket (all painted black) and wears HEAD branded outfit. Rolling Eyes

Yes, and he's holding a completely different racket during the photo shoot and wearing REEBOK clothing! I don't get why he's still using a Prince. He's had plenty of time to practice with the new Heads and get the feel of them in the past few months.

I found the answer (probably).

Contractually he is obliged to use Head on all PSA ranked tournaments. Superseries Finals tournament does not belong to that family. That's why he may (sic!) play with whatever he wants. Probably in next tournamnets we will see him using Head again

There is a thread in the equipment forum about this

http://squashsite.makeforum.org/ramy-s-back-with-prince-t136.html

Apparently he is getting a custom made head racket and in the meantime is using his old Prince racket.
