Of all the pros I've seen, Peter Nicol had the best lob ever. 9/10 were perfect. Amazing.

Was there anyone better?

He just used it well. I think all the players have good lobs its just how you use them. For example Nick beating Ramy he just kept lobbing. Peter always lobbed to get him out of trouble and 'restart' the rally. He used it really well. Their was some Khan from the 60's who really kicked ass when it came to the touch: lob and drop game. I forget his name, but some author wrote about him, he sounded really good. My old coach used to teach the game like old ppl play cos their smarter. Which was lob, drop and always volley, Try not to get into the habbit of always driving etc.

I think Ramy has a pretty amazing lob. He hit several against Shabana in Saudi that I couldn't believe he reached much less got under. They're so high they seem to almost hit the ceiling before landing in a back corner. But you're right, Nicol was the best lobber. In fact, he was the tightest player I've ever seen, every shot inch perfect, even when under extreme pressure.

I couldn't agree more, Ramy's lob is amazingly high!! Nicol's lobs are not as high but the angles and timing were absolutely perfect.
